9 years ago today, Layne Staley passed away.  I hate drug addicts but sometimes they show a glimmer of something that makes me feel sympathetic.  Layne was that guy.  He was tortured and brilliant and everything that Kurt Cobain wanted us to believe he was.

Nutshell and River Of Deceit make me feel.  It's not always a good feeling but a great reminder that I do own a modicum of humanity.  Thanks Layne.
